The Ronald McDonald House Charities annually
offers the African American Future Achievers Scholarship to high
school seniors. Unfortunately, participation and application for
this scholarship has dwindled so low over the last few years, that
the charity is considering cutting the funding.
Please encourage all African American high school seniors to
apply at http://www.aim.applyists.net/RMHC by early
January 2017. I also ask that you pass it to anyone else you
believe may benefit from this opportunity.
Scholarship deadlines and eligibility requirements vary. If you
need a letter of recommendation, please contact your counselor.
Please note: letters of recommendation need a 2 week advance
2016 Employment Law Scholarship. This scholarship is now
available to any student who will be attending an accredited
college or university by Spring 2017 and have plans of attending
law school in the future or are currently attending law school.

Arizona Dream Builders
Dream Scholars must be high school seniors enrolled full-time in
an Arizona school, maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher, personally
demonstrate commitment to school and community leadership. There is
NO residency requirement for this scholarship.
Horatio Alger Scholarship
Must be planning to enter college no later than the fall after
graduation. Financial need ($50,000 or less adjusted gross income
per family is preferred), involvement in co-curricular and
community activities. Must demonstrate academic achievement
(minimum GPA of 2.0), be an Arizona resident, and a citizen of the
Minimum 3.0 GPA, must be a US citizen, US Nationals, US Permanent
Resident, Temporary Residents, Refugess, Asyless, Cuban-Haitian
Entrants, or Humanitarian Parelees. Scholarship awarded based on
character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is demonstrated in
school, civic and extracurricular activities, academic achievement,
and motivation to serve and succeed. Awards vary.
Susan G. Komen Cure
Must have lost a parent/guardian to breast cancer or must be a
breast cancer survivor diagnosed at 25 years or younger. Must have
a minimum unweighted 2.8 GPA, be a US citizen or a documented
permanent resident. Never been subject to any disciplinary action
by any institution or entity, including but not limited to any
educational or law enforcement agency. Must be a driven advocate
for breast cancer education and research who is able to complete a
minimum of 20 hours of community service per semester.
Aims to award educational grants to eligible Hispanic students.
GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship
Must demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and in the community
the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship.
Demonstrate a strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 GPA),
financial need, and be a US citizen.

Current students, high school students and anyone interested in
cosmetology or barbering as a career can apply for a scholarship
through the Alice Madden Barton Scholarship program. These
scholarships can be used at any cosmetology or barbering school.
The scholarships are given out twice a year in January and July to
applicants who can demonstrate a passion for the craft and
dedication to developing their skills.
Central Arizona College (CAC)
ACTIVITY SCHOLARSHIP: Students who participate in certain
activities for Central Arizona College, such as student government,
student ambassadors, etc.
CAC FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP: New and returning students
CAC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS - The purpose of CAC Foundation
Scholarships is to assist students enrolled at Central Arizona
College in achieving their educational goals. The Foundation
receives financial gifts and real property from individuals and
organizations to fund these scholarships.

Students can volunteer at an approved Ameri-Corp organization and
earn money that goes into their MCC account. Parents/grandparents
who are 55+ can volunteer thru Ameri-Corps and pass their award
money to the child, grandchild, or foster child.
