Athletic Director

Brian Winter began his first year as Dean of Students at Maricopa High School. He previously served as Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at MHS during the 2011-2012 school year. Brian is in his 29th year in education. He has served the past 8 years as an Assistant Principal with 7 of those years as an Athletic Director and the past year as an Assistant Principal in charge of curriculum and assessment. His most recent assignment was at Douglas High School in Douglas, Arizona.

Born and raised in Minnesota, he received his Bachelor's Degree from Winona State University and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Brian has taught at the elementary, middle school and high school levels during the course of his career and has previously served as a Head Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach for twenty-one years.

Brian and his wife Katey have three children together; Courtney (28), Logan (24) and Tatum (21). He enjoys hiking, biking and attending sporting events as well as spending time with his family.
